Sometimes, you have the product, but need help developing the business around it.
Yet, just because your budget is limited, doesn’t mean we can’t find a way to get you where you want to go and grow from there.
Playwright and actor, Ivan Martín, known for both his acting, writing, and his applied theater educational courses and seminars with his company, Aula Teatral, came to us with some of the plays he'd written as educational tools for students of different ages to see if there was a way he could establish some kind of marketplace for them that was simple, easy to manage, and most important of all, low budget. In the initial RFP and subsequent conversations, we understood both the desired goals and the limitations from both a budget standpoint, but also from a management, knowledge and resources standpoint.
Of all the platforms we discussed, we settled on Gumroad as a launch point to manage the sales, because of its ease of use and absolute simplicity. It's a popular platform that's very easy to manage and absolutely free. We also decided to begin creating the brand, company, and a website that would begin to show off, market, and push those products, while initially using Gumroad for the sale itself. Looking at the market, we came up with Obra de Teatro, which translates to play, referring to theater plays and the main address "obradeteatro.com". As a centralized location to push from, the site itself would have to be something that could grow into something bigger. It's always important to look at the options with the client and see where they can start, where each stepping stone is towards each goal, and to work to get there within the budget.
Once we worked on developing the brand, the site, social media, and tying everything together, we also made sure to include future proofing features in order to grow the platform as he continues to add more content, and at a minimum cost.
